I love volunteering and being part of what is going on at the Springfield Dream Center! I especially appreciate the help plus hope mission at the heart of the Dream Center. They help their families by meeting immediate needs of different kinds, which is so important and necessary. But they also bring hope by walking along side families, investing in them, and providing many different resources. This hope component is very important, as it provides families with community, new skills, and the ability to learn new ways to think about things. I believe this type of support is an important step to break negative generational cycles. The kids that attend Dream Center Academy after school are given a safe and loving place to go. It supplements their education, and they also learn many other life changing skills, including managing their emotions in a healthy way, and being encouraged to think outside of the box and dream! All of this is incredibly important because these are future moms and dads! Employees, business owners, and leaders in our community! They have an opportunity to learn things at DCA that can make an impact on their lives, and on the lives of generations to come. I also love the Community Dinners and classes offered. The block parties and give back events are so much fun to be part of! There are so many places to plug in and volunteer at the Springfield Dream Center. There is a place for you, and you will make a difference!
